Nokomis Page

Welcome to the Town of Nokomis website...

Nokomis became a Township in 1948, dividing the Town of Cassian.  We have 53 miles of roads and two full time employees.

The Town Hall and Office is located at 2541 Lake Nokomis Road. The original town hall was the Center School, located on Prairie Rapids road.  The present town hall was built in 1980, with an office addition built in 1992.  A large part of Lake Nokomis is located in the Town of Nokomis.

Our last population count is 1,417, and of that amount approximately 1,095 are of voting age.

We have many resorts, supper clubs and a famous ice cream shop The Windmill.

We have four parks:  Nokomis Community Park, Town Hall Park, the wayside on County L and we are developing Mary's Park.

Mary's Park-Progress is taking place after receiving a Stewardship Grant. Clearing of a 3/4 mile nature hiking trail is just about done and a well and picnic tables will be put in a shelter. Other things if time permits this summer will be a park sign and Buster's Park.

You may find Nokomis by taking US Highway 51/39 to Highway 8 West, to County Highway L North.

We have three town Board Members, who's terms expire in April 2007.

Gary Baier, Chair (715) 612-9378 or 453-4581
John Brottlund, Supervisor (715) 612-5748 or 453-5748
