North 4th Street and Veteran's Memorial Bridge Construction Info

This page will list information on the planning that is taking place to prepare for the construction of North 4th Street and the replacement of Veteran's Memorial Bridge in 2012. 

The last meeting on this project was held on September 18th.  Committees are now being formed to prepare for these projects.  Below is a description of each committee, current members, and meeting dates.  For more information, please contact Christine at the Chamber at 453-5334.

Committees

Transportation – Design issues such as crosswalks, driveway locations, sidewalks, re-routing of traffic, and access to businesses during the construction.

Members -- Don Nelson, A.J. Theiler, Tim Hoglund, Marc Lietha and Randy Scholz.  

Committee meeting date TBA, October 21-24

Promotions/Funding – strategies for keeping customers and drawing public interest to the project and determining funding methods to cover program costs.

Members -- John Kromm, Jim Charles, MaryLu Voermans, Carol Swan, Larry Tobin and PJ Childers.

Committee meeting date:  September 25 at 7:30 am at the Chamber.

Workforce/Volunteers – Identifying groups that maybe available to help with promotions, information distribution and other needs.

Members -- Pat Haskin, Jo-Ski Theiler

Committee meeting date:

Information Distribution – Producing and disseminating information within the group and to the public.

Members -- Jed Buelow, Tim Albert, Pat Haskin, Christine Brown, Roger Rindo and Bruce Hetzel.

Committee meeting date:  October 7 at 9:00 am at the Chamber.

Signage and Lighting – Develop criteria for business and street signage, street lighting, and landscaping.

Members -- Gregg Albert, Pete Wurl, Joe Story, Mary Czaja and Rejeana Ebert.

Committee meeting date -- September 25 at 7am at City Hall.

The next general meeting of the project will be November 13 at 7:30 am.  Place TBA.
