North 4th Street and Veteran's Memorial Bridge Construction Information

This page will list information on the planning that is taking place to prepare for the construction of North 4th Street and the replacement of Veteran's Memorial Bridge in 2010.

Committees have been formed to prepare for these projects. Below is a description of each committee, current members, and meeting dates. For more information, please contact Mike Tolvstad at the Tomahawk City Garage at 453-3654.

In This Together

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) recognizes that businesses located in work zones have special needs. This program is called "In this together". You can find information on this program on The Wisconsin Department of Transportation web site.

Bridging the Gap Project

Transportation Committee

They design issues such as crosswalks, driveway locations, sidewalks, re-routing of traffic, and access to businesses during the construction.

Promotions/Funding Committee

Strategies for keeping customers and drawing public interest to the project and determining funding methods to cover program costs.

Workforce/Volunteers Committee

Identifying groups that maybe available to help with promotions, information distribution and other needs.

Education Information Distribution Committee

Producing and disseminating information within the group and to the public.

Signage and Lighting Committee

Develop criteria for business and street signage, street lighting, and landscaping.
