Hiking Trails
Timms Hill- located 24 miles west of Tomahawk on Hwy. 86, offers the highest point in Wisconsin with an observation tower, picnic area, playground, hiking trails, a well and restrooms. Snowmobile trails that run adjacent to park, 7.5 miles of cross country skiing/hiking trails and non-motorized biking trails. Fishing on Timm’s Lake and Bass Lake. Bass Lake has a fishing pier and boat landing.
Underdown Recreation Area- Located on County Hwy. K South of Tomahawk, offers horse trails, camp sites (camp with horses), groomed cross country ski trails, and mountain bike trails.
Tomahawk River Walk- begins at North Fourth Street across from Memorial Park and is approximately a half mile. Scenic walk along the Wisconsin River. Handicap accessible.

Biking Trails
Hiawatha Trail- The trail follows the abandoned Milwaukee Road railroad bed and goes north from Tomahawk to the Lincoln County line near Lake Nokomis, approximately 6.6 miles. The trail will join the Bearskin State Park Trail, which comes south from Minocqua on the same rail bed. Click here for a .pdf of the Hiawatha Trail map.
Bearskin State Trail- Named for the Bearskin Creek the trail follows, this 18-mile, former railroad corridor, is an opportunity to experience the north woods of Wisconsin. Click here for a .pdf of the Bearskin State Trail map.
